The Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets clashed in a heated back-to-back series over the weekend, sparking tensions that reached a boiling point on Saturday. A defining moment occurred when Kirill Kaprisov delivered a reverse check, prompting Brendan Dillon's forceful response with a couple of stiff cross-checks.

Dillon's retaliatory cross-checks left Kaprisov in considerable pain, sidelining him from the Wild lineup. As the two teams faced off again on Sunday, the animosity between them was palpable. During the game, Ryan Hartman, in what appeared to be an intentional move, struck Cole Perfetti in the face with a high stick after a faceoff.

Following the incident, the league fined Hartman for the high stick. When questioned about it, Perfetti confirmed that Hartman admitted the play was intentional, stating, "it had to happen."

Looking ahead, the Jets and Wild are set to meet again on February 20th, and it seems likely that Hartman may face repercussions for his actions that night.
