Marc-Andre Fleury's Official Role With The Minnesota Wild Has Been Unveiled
The Minnesota Wild have hit a rough patch with goalie Filip Gustavsson sidelined and placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury. According to The Athletic's Michael Russo, Gustavsson is set for another MRI and is expected to be out "at least a couple of weeks."
This setback comes at an unfortunate time for the Wild, who have been enjoying a solid 7-3 record in their last 10 games under coach John Hynes. With their top goaltender on the sidelines and star winger Kirill Kaprizov also out for one to two weeks, the team faces challenges in maintaining their playoff aspirations in the competitive Western Conference.
Amidst these developments, earlier speculations about Marc-Andre Fleury's potential trade due to sharing the goaltending duties in Minnesota and this being his potential last NHL season have been laid to rest.
Fleury's destiny is now clear in Minnesota, where he will take on the role of the starting goaltender for the foreseeable future.
