LA Kings Star Forward Solidifies His Candidacy For Goal Of The Year
Los Angeles Kings fans have eagerly awaited the breakout of Quinton Byfield since he was drafted second overall in 2020. And finally, their patience is being rewarded.
At just 21 years old, the power forward has come into his own this season, living up to the hype surrounding him as a prospect. Standing at an imposing 6'5" and weighing 225 lbs, Byfield had a decent showing last season with three goals and 22 points in 53 games, but also honed his skills with the AHL's Ontario Reign. However, this season, he's proving he belongs in LA for good.
With an impressive 17 goals and 40 points in 51 games so far, Byfield's latest goal was nothing short of breathtaking. He effortlessly maneuvered past Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski and netted a sprawling goal, solidifying his candidacy for 'Goal of the Year'.
