Stuart Skinner has had a terrible start to the Edmonton Oilers season as he allowed five goals in the first game and was downright mediocre last night against the Calgary Flames.

Skinner seems to be psyching himself out and it is no good. The Oilers are 0-3 to start the year and bad goaltending has been a huge reason for the team's lack of success. It also doesn't help that the offense has been abysmal as well, which is hard to believe when you have guys like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
As for Skinner, there was a moment last night that summed up his dubious start to the NHL season. After receiving a light tap on the back of his leg from Mikael Backlund, he went down as if he was in a ton of pain.
There was no penalty call and while some Oilers fans were upset about this, other fans online knew better. As you can see down below, there were many who were quick to call out Skinner for embellishment. It was pretty obvious and as you know, embellishing in hockey is one of the worst things you can do.
Only time will tell whether or not Skinner can get it together this season. He has been pretty bad and the fear surrounding him continue to grow larger. Hopefully, he is able to get back on track to where he was around playoff time last season. Otherwise, the Oilers could be in some massive trouble.
