Corey Perry and the Edmonton Oilers clashed against the Anaheim Ducks last night, with Perry making a controversial move against his former team.
Perry's Aggressive Slash on Gibson
In his return to Anaheim, Perry aimed to help the Oilers secure a victory against the Ducks. Despite a stellar performance by Evander Kane, who netted a hat trick, the Oilers clinched a 5-3 win.
However, the game wasn't without its drama. During a play behind the net, Ducks goaltender John Gibson found himself under pressure from Perry, who delivered a forceful slash, causing Gibson to lose his stick.
The referees overlooked the incident, allowing Perry to escape without consequence, much to the dismay of Ducks fans.
In addition to his controversial play, Perry contributed to Kane's first goal of the night, leveling the score at 1-1.
With this victory, the Oilers closed the gap in the Pacific division standings, rebounding from their previous loss against the Vegas Golden Knights.
