Bruce Boudreau has a strong warning for the Edmonton Oilers
Bruce Boudreau was a no-nonsense NHL coach and now that he is on TSN, he can speak freely about teams like the Edmonton Oilers.
If you have been following along this season, the Oilers have been a bit of a disaster. They started the season with a few losses in a row and appeared to be in complete disarray. It was a bad look that was eventually followed up with a couple of wins in a row. Last night, the Oilers lost to the Carolina Hurricanes in overtime, and once again, the team has questions to answer for.
With the team at a record of 2-4-1, it is clear that they are underachieving. This is a team that made the Stanley Cup Finals last year. They should be doing a whole lot better than whatever this is. Bruce Boudreau agrees and had a dangerous warning for the Oilers.
"You can not depend, oh we're just gonna win 10-12 in a row they've started to come back, won two, but let's just say they have a little glitch and they lose the next two? They're starting all over again, another week or two down the drain. The idea is to get to .500, and go from there."
Only time will tell whether or not the Oilers actually get it together here. However, fans are going to want to see some improvements very soon. Otherwise, this season could slip away quicker than expected.
