Mark Recchi, a Hockey Hall of Famer with three Stanley Cups, has been fired following a bit of a rough go with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Recchi came in as the team's assistant coach last season. While fans wanted to give him time to develop in his role, he was ultimately fired, according to reporter Aaron Portzline. Derek Dorsett also resigned as a player development coach, which just goes to show that turmoil is currently ongoing out in Columbus.
This comes amid news that the team had hired Dean Evason as a head coach. Additionally, Recchi still had another year left on his deal. Only time will tell what he decides to do next.
Do you believe firing Mark Recchi was the right move? Let us know in the poll down below. Additionally, stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
