Avalanche place forward Chris Wagner on waivers
As the Colorado Avalanche battle in their first round against the Winnipeg Jets, general manager Chris McFarland chose to do some house keeping by putting forward Chris Wagner on waivers.
The 32-year-old who was drafted in 2010 by the Anaheim Ducks, fifth round 122nd overall had played thirteen games this year for the avalanche and only scoring one goal with one assist for two points and was a + 3.
Wagner has seen his share of teams as he had played for the Ducks, Avalanche, Islanders and Bruins throughout his career and thru 373 games, he has scored 38 goals of 27 assists for 65 points and is a - 24.
He had spent the bulk of his time with the Colorado Eagles who are the AHL affiliate for the team. Wagner holds one year remaining on his contract which has a cap value of $775,000. It's unlikely a team will pick him up at this time, the avalanche may find a way to craft the trade during the offseason if they feel he needs to be moved on.
