The Chicago Blackhawks are eagerly awaiting the return of Connor Bedard from injury, and on Wednesday, they made a roster move by placing one of their own on waivers.
As reported by Chris Johnston of TSN, the Blackhawks have waived 26-year-old forward Rem Pitlick with the intention of sending him to the American Hockey League.
"Placed on NHL waivers today: Rem Pitlick (CHI)," Johnston tweeted.
Pitlick, hailing from Ottawa, has had a whirlwind year. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins from Montreal last summer before being dealt to Chicago in early January.
In nine games with the Blackhawks this season, Pitlick has yet to tally a point, accruing two penalty minutes and posting a minus-seven rating.
In related news, Tyler Pitlick of the New York Rangers and Luke Philp of the Chicago Blackhawks have both cleared waivers and will be assigned to the American Hockey League.
