The owner of the Buffalo Sabres has reportedly sold the franchise
In a surprising turn of events, Terry Pegula, the owner of the Buffalo Sabres, has made headlines by selling the team along with his other sports assets.
Amidst a challenging season for the Sabres, Pegula's decision to sell adds to the ongoing drama surrounding the franchise. Along with the Buffalo Sabres, Pegula also owned the Buffalo Bandits (NLL) and Buffalo Bills (NFL).
According to multiple sources, the Buffalo Bandits, Buffalo Sabres, Rochester Americans, and Rochester Knighthawks are going to be sold.
"Everything but the Bills," one source said.
The sale of the Sabres means that new ownership will step in during a critical phase of the team's rebuilding efforts. The identity of the new buyers and the timeline for the transition remain undisclosed at this time.
