Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bo Byram has been relishing the increased ice time since his acquisition from the Colorado Avalanche at the deadline.

Byram's playing time has jumped from over 19 minutes in Colorado to 23 minutes with the Sabres. The 22-year-old has excelled with the added responsibility, tallying 6 points in 9 games since the trade.

Tonight, Byram's Sabres faced off against the Ottawa Senators at home, but it was a rough start for the hosts. They endured a tough first period, conceding five goals and drawing boos from the disappointed crowd.

With the Senators leading 4-0, frustration seemed to get the better of Byram. As Senators forward Angus Crookshank was admiring his pass in the offensive zone, Byram blindsided him with a hit, primarily targeting Crookshank's head. Crookshank headed to the bench immediately but remained in the game.

Byram's actions are particularly disappointing given his well-known history of concussions. The fourth overall pick in the 2019 draft has battled through three known concussions in his young career, making his decision to deliver such a hit even more concerning.
