BREAKING: Police Video Of Former NHLer Has Been Released Following His Arrest in July
The Scottsdale Police have just released a video of Alex Galchenyuk's arrest that happened back in July, and it's not a good look for the former NHL player.
You might remember that the Arizona Coyotes placed Galchenyuk on waivers over the summer, initially without giving a reason. Later, Galchenyuk issued an apology and an explanation. Back then, details from the police report mentioned that Galchenyuk got arrested for damaging property with his car and making some serious threats toward an officer and their family, along with using strong language.
The video confirms those details. Galchenyuk went on to sign with the KHL and has been playing there since. He was initially charged with various offenses, including hit and run, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and threatening or intimidating. In August, he pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of threatening.
He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, with a 27-day reduction upon completing an alcohol recovery program and maintaining a 12-month alcohol-free period.
