Arizona Coyotes Player Faces Suspension After An incredibly Dangerous Hit
When you think of a game between the Arizona Coyotes and Florida Panthers, physical showdowns aren't the first thing that comes to mind. These teams meet only twice a year and don't have much history between them. However, last night's match turned out to be an exception, featuring one of the season's nastiest hits.
In the second period, well after the puck was gone, Jason Zucker unleashed a dangerous hit on Nick Cousins. The impact sent Cousins careening into the boards face-first, followed by a painful collapse on the ice. It's the kind of play the NHL is keen on eliminating from the game.
Reacting swiftly, Cousins' teammate Gustav Forsling wasted no time dropping the gloves with Zucker. Zucker got slapped with 5 minutes for fighting, 5 minutes for boarding, and a game misconduct. Forsling, on the other hand, received 5 for fighting and 2 minutes for instigating.
The NHL Department of Player Safety is likely to review this hit, and a suspension seems imminent.
