Utah's NHL franchise is gearing up for its debut season at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, following its move from Arizona back in April.

Initially, there were uncertainties about the team's name, but recent developments have shed light on the situation. Utah has trademarked nine potential names, including Yetis, Blizzard, and Outlaws.

The organization took a significant step forward by announcing 20 finalists for the team name, signaling progress in defining its identity.

For the inaugural season, the new team in Salt Lake City will only wear "UTAH" across its sweater.

Here are the 20 potential nicknames under consideration for the future via a fan vote.

As the offseason progresses, all eyes are on General Manager Bill Armstrong, with rumors swirling about team owner Ryan Smith's desire for competitiveness in free agency. With several standout players from the 2023-24 season available, Utah could make some impactful signings come July 1st.

In addition to free agency, Utah holds the sixth overall pick in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft. With promising prospects like Anton Silayev, Sam Dickinson, and others on the table, the franchise is positioned to make a solid choice for its future.
