Utah HC hard officially completed their first NHL Draft. During the end of weekend media availability their General Manager may have accidentally leaked his team's new name.

On Friday evening during his media availability following the first round of the NHL Draft, Utah General Manager Bill Armstrong may have let his team's official name leak. While disusing drafting Tij Iginla and Cole Beaudoin, Armstrong said the following:

"When we hit pick 5, that's when we knew. That's when we knew he was going to be a Utah Yeti, I think." Armstrong said.

He added, "I'm not allowed to pick the name, but I think the little kids in Utah vote about 25 time a day. So I think they got it."

For the next season, Utah will be keeping it basic and will be using 'Hockey Club' as the team name. The team didn't want to rush the branding process and once a name is selected it is a long process to complete branding and design. The second phase of voting ran until June 20th.

Next year should be exciting in Salt Lake City especially after acquiring Mikhail Sergachev and John Marino. Once the free agent market opens on Monday afternoon, expect Armstrong to be busy once again and try to add a top-nine forward for his roster.
