The team is made up almost entirely of NHL players, with 21 out of the 22-man roster having NHL experience. The lone exception is Macklin Celebrini, who is tipped to be the first overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Players from a variety of NHL teams will don the Maple Leaf, including representatives from the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres, Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, Utah HC (previously known as the Arizona Coyotes), Calgary Flames, Seattle Kraken, New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and Anaheim Ducks.

In a surprising move, Sidney Crosby, despite widespread anticipation about his participation, will not be part of the team. This has sparked considerable discussion among fans and analysts alike.

Team Canada aims to capitalize on this robust roster to clinch the Gold Medal and uphold national pride at the World Championships.
