Defenseman Landon DuPont was the most recent 15-year-old to be granted exceptional status into the WHL, and he is already making his mark.

DuPont plays for the Everett Silvertips and recently, he played his first game with the team. It was here where he was able to secure his first-ever point, which was an assist. He had four shots on goal and was even a plus-two, which isn't too shabby for someone of his age and current stature.
Having said that, DuPont is someone that hockey analysts believe could very well be a lottery pick when the 2027 NHL Entry Draft comes along, in about three years from now.
Funny enough, DuPont was recently asked about which team he believes will win the Stanley Cup this season. This subsequently led to a hilarious answer. While his favorite team is the Toronto Maple Leafs, he believes they are already out of contention. Instead, he is going with the Vancouver Canucks.
"Uhhhh, I mean my team's out, I'm a Toronto fan but I think that I might have to settle for the Canucks now."
Only time will tell whether or not DuPont can prove to be as good as the critics claim he is. We wish him nothing but the best during his first WHL season.
