Luke Schenn, a former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman, shared his insights on new coach Craig Berube, having played under him previously. Schenn has firsthand knowledge of Berube's coaching style and believes he can bring stability to the team.

Schenn praised Berube's direct and straightforward approach, saying he learned a lot from him. Berube's no-nonsense style, with no sugarcoating, will likely resonate well in the Toronto market. Schenn's endorsement of Berube comes at a crucial time for the Maple Leafs, who have undergone significant changes and face uncertainty surrounding Mitch Marner's future.
»He's a great coach. He says it like it is, there's no sugar coating with him. He's what you want in a coach or, for me at least, personally. He's black and white, no grey area; you know where he stands all the time. If you're not playing well, he'll let you know. I think it's good, and it'll be good in that market as well.'
The Maple Leafs have struggled to find consistency and playoff success, with only one playoff round victory in eight years. As a result, fans and pundits have found it challenging to be optimistic about the upcoming season. However, Schenn's comments offer a glimmer of hope that Berube's leadership can help the team reach its full potential.
Berube's ability to make a meaningful impact on the team remains to be seen. If he can bring stability and accountability, as Schenn suggests, it could be a turning point for the Maple Leafs. Time will tell if Berube is the right man for the job, but Schenn's endorsement is a positive sign for the team's future.
