For the second time in less than an hour, trade activity has affected the San Jose Sharks.

The Sharks announced this afternoon on X that they have acquired defenseman Kyle Burroughs in exchange for winger Carl Grundstrom from the Los Angeles Kings.
"Welcome to the Sharks, Carl Grundstrom!

The #SJSharks have acquired Grundstrom from the Kings in exchange for Kyle Burroughs." The Sharks said.

The previous season, Grundstrom, 26, played in 50 games for the Kings, recording 12 points (eight goals, four assists), 12 penalty minutes, and a minus-two rating. In five Stanley Cup Playoff games, he was pointless. On July 1st, the native of Umea, Sweden, will be granted arbitration rights and become an RFA.
In 73 games with San Jose in 2023–24, Burroughs, 28, skated for eight points (six goals, six assists), 71 penalty minutes, and a minus–42 rating. His contract has a $1.1 million cap hit and two years left on it.
