Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau tragically passed away last week and over a week later, fans still cannot believe that it is real.

Throughout the past week, there have been numerous tributes to the two players. From candlelight vigils to jersey number changes, there is no doubt that the two men were absolutely beloved by the hockey community. Messages from family members have also showcased what amazing young men the Gaudreaus were.

In fact, the obituary for Johnny Gaudreau has surfaced online. It is beautifully written and truly speaks to the kind of person Gaudreau was off of the ice. You cannot help but feel like Johnny Hockey was a truly special person through and through.

"Fame and stardom aside, John was a quiet and simple person. Spending time with his loved ones was what he cared about most. His family members were his best friends, and his best friends were considered family. In addition to his excellent 10-year NHL career, he loved all types of competition: men's softball league in the summer, backyard cornhole, darts in the garage, betting hole by hole during a golf round, card games, or racing at word search puzzles. He made everything more fun, and there was always something on the line to play for. And he always won."

Our heart continues to go out to the Gaudreau family who are dealing with a horrific loss right now. The funeral is going to be live-streamed on Monday, and fans will be able to pay their respects from anywhere in the world.

We hope you decide to tune in, even if for just a few minutes. Additionally, stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
