Jacob Trouba shows off his hidden talent with major art exhibit
New York Rangers Captain Jacob Trouba Opens Solo Art Exhibit
New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba has taken a significant step into the art world with the opening of his first solo art exhibit, titled "Landing My Mark." The exhibit, which combines his love for both art and hockey, opened on Thursday in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. This marks a major milestone for Trouba, who has been nurturing his passion for art alongside his professional hockey career.
Trouba's exhibit showcases his unique approach to art, blending his hockey career with his creative endeavors. He is offering prints of his artwork for sale, with all proceeds going to charity. Additionally, one of his pieces will be auctioned off later this year, with the proceeds benefiting Hockey Fights Cancer.
In a recent social media post, Trouba shared insights into his journey as an artist:
"We are here in, Chelsea, in Manhattan, at uh, my first solo art exhibition. A bunch of great, great causes and trying to make some positive impacts, but this is my first, I guess, show of making it public of, I guess, my passion for art."
When discussing his artistic process, Trouba explained how he found inspiration:
"Tried painting with a buddy of mine who is an artist, who is nice enough to invite me to his studio. It originally started as, like, a couple days and try to make something I could hang in the house, just as, trying something new. Obviously, I wasn't good at it, it was frustrating and continued to learn about it and learn more about other artists. Came across Yves Klein, who's a French artist, and he would paint with women's bodies. That's when I was - kind of last ditch effort of, if I'm going to do this thing, it's gotta be a little more me."
Trouba elaborated on how he integrates his hockey career into his art:
"So I painted myself and my equipment and liked it, how it came out the first time. I made, I guess, my own artistic language throughout hockey, which obviously relates back to me and what I do."
The exhibit features nine different prints available for purchase on [Jacob Trouba's website](https://jacobtroubaart.com/shop). The prints are priced at $150 USD each. Trouba is also offering 108 signed large prints for $1,000 USD and 208 signed medium prints for $750 USD. All proceeds from the sales will go to various charities, reflecting Trouba's commitment to making a positive impact through his art.
This venture into the art world is not just about personal expression for Trouba; it's also about giving back. By auctioning one of his pieces in support of Hockey Fights Cancer, Trouba is using his platform to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to his heart.
Jacob Trouba's art exhibit marks an exciting new chapter in his life, showcasing his ability to balance his hockey career with his artistic passion. His work not only highlights his creativity but also his dedication to philanthropy. As Trouba continues to explore his artistic talents, fans can look forward to more unique creations and charitable initiatives.
Keep an eye on Trouba's social media accounts for updates on his upcoming auction in November, where he will continue to support Hockey Fights Cancer. This event promises to be a significant moment in Trouba's journey as both an athlete and an artist.
