Horrifying scene as NFL official collapses and receives CPR
There were horrifying scenes today at the NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Las Vegas Raiders.
One of the officials on the sidelines who operates the chains collapsed. He did so on the Ravens sideline but luckily, there were people who could immediately attend to him. In a video posted to X, the man could be seen receiving CPR, otherwise known as chest compressions. It was very scary and the entire stadium fell silent during the emergency.
Thankfully, the man survived. It was revealed by the Ravens that he was responsive and is now being taken to the hospital where he will receive extra care. This was all scary, but the quick thinking of the medical staff ultimately helped this man live.
This is reminiscent of what happened to Damar Hamlin just a couple of years ago. However, Hamlin's medical emergency happened following a hit. Either way, it remains clear that the NFL is exceptional when it comes to being quick-footed with its responses.
Our thoughts are with the official and his family. We are also thinking about the players and sideline staff who had to witness all of this. A big thanks to all of the amazing workers who helped save the man's life.
