Ivan Demidov nets first KHL goal with help from Evgeny Kuznetsov (video)

Ivan Demidov was the fifth overall pick in the 2024 Entry Draft as the Montreal Canadiens were able to get one of the steals of the night.

Since that time, it has been clear that Demidov would be spending the year in the KHL with St. Petersburgh SKA. Luckily for the Habs, Demidov is already seeing some progress with his new team. Despite a slow start in which he only had one assist in four games, he has finally scored his first-career goal in the KHL, at 18 years old.

In fact, his goal, which can be seen down below, was assisted by none other than Evgeny Kuznetsov who is in the KHL after a sensational NHL career. They are linemates and as you can imagine, the crowd was absolutely loving this tally.

We will certainly be seeing more of this from Demidov and Kuznetsov over the course of the season. St. Petersburg SKA is lucky to have both of these guys, who represent different generations of hockey. Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens will be eager to have him in their system. While they may have to wait a year or two, it could prove to be very worth it.
