The 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship is gearing up for its kickoff on Tuesday in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Canada has unveiled its leadership lineup for the tournament.

Fraser Minten, a prospect for the Toronto Maple Leafs, will don the captain's role for Canada. The 19-year-old, currently playing with the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League, made a brief appearance in four games for the Maple Leafs at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.

Hockey Canada has also announced four alternate captains for the tournament. This includes Owen Beck, a prospect for the Montreal Canadiens and the sole returning player from the 2023 roster. Joining him with the 'A' are Matthew Poitras from the Boston Bruins, Maveric Lamoureux from the Arizona Coyotes, and Matthew Savoie from the Buffalo Sabres.
