Tie Domi last played in Toronto back during the 2005-06 season, retiring a Maple Leaf back in 2006. Tonight, his son, Max, will play his first game as a Maple Leaf at the former Air Canada Centre, now Scotiabank Arena. The excitement is real in the Domi household and in Toronto.

Tie Domi had played 16 seasons in the NHL, 12 of which were spent as a member of the Leafs and his son Max was often spotted with Tie around the facility and in the locker room. There are even a few iconic pictures around of Tie and Max sitting at his locker room stall hanging on the wall at Scotiabank Arena.

One storyline that some were curious about is whether or not Max was occupying his dad's old locker room stall in the Leafs' locker room. He was asked about this very thing today during his first media availability at Scotiabank Arena. As cool as it would have been to hear, Domi revealed that he did not actually get his dad's old stall. but he revealed on Monday who currently sits there; linemate William Nylander. Domi also revealed that he is on the opposite side of the locker room.

It took Max all of 13 seconds to earn his first penalty in a Maple Leafs jersey in his first pre-season game against Ottawa. With the energy he'll be feeling this evening, I'd imagine we'll see him occupy the penalty box that his dad made famous more than once tonight.
