The Vancouver Canucks have been treading water since their top goaltender, Thatcher Demko, was sidelined with an injury. It looks like they'll have to keep at it without him for a bit longer.

On the recent "Donnie and Dhali" podcast, insider Rick Dhaliwal shared that Demko is expected to be out for another two to four weeks. This timeline means the Canucks will need to navigate upcoming games against Nashville and possibly face the winner of the LA/Edmonton series without their number one goalie.

Dhaliwal:

I was told 2-4 weeks for Demko. Game 6 or 7 next series there's a chance for Demko.

There's been some buzz about when Demko might come back, with hopes pinned on a late second-round return, should the Canucks advance that far in the playoffs.

While there are whispers that the injury could be severe enough to require surgery, Dhaliwal doesn't believe that's the case.

In the meantime, the Canucks have seen some solid performances from goaltenders Casey DeSmith and Arturs Silovs. The team will likely need these two to step up big time, aiming to notch three or four more wins to buy time for Demko's potential return to the ice.
