In many respects, his job is a thankless one. A job in which everyone is going to hate you, regardless of what you do. However, if you do get a Stanley Cup, then all will be forgiven. Well, as it turns out, Treliving has yet to make a single major trade, despite being with the Leafs for over a year. That could change very soon, however.
According to Editor In Leaf, the franchise is in need of some depth on the wing, and they also need a third-line center. With players like Ryan Reaves taking up cap space, it seems highly likely that Treliving could make a major move, any day now.
We have seen trade rumors involving the the likes of Mitch Marner and some other Leafs players. However, do not expect that to happen anytime soon. Instead, the Leafs will be looking to add depth before making any brash decisions that will affect their core players.
