Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury faced a penalty on Thursday night in a situation that raised some eyebrows.

During the first period of the Wild's matchup against the Anaheim Ducks, Frank Vatrano made a move deep into Minnesota's zone to challenge Jonas Brodin for the puck.

As Vatrano entered the Wild's zone, he collided with Marc-Andre Fleury's stick, resulting in a direct hit to his face. Reacting to the impact, Vatrano grabbed his face and doubled over, prompting the nearby official to signal a two-minute minor for high-sticking against Fleury, much to the goalie's disagreement.

"Not sure how Fleury is supposed to avoid Frank Vatrano skating face first into his stick?»

Fleury's focus was on the corner, where his teammate controlled the puck, unaware of Vatrano's approach towards the crease.

While some argue Fleury should have been more cautious with his stick, others suggest Vatrano should have been more mindful of his surroundings to prevent such incidents.
