Zach Hyman faces suspension after brutally cross checking Quinn Hughes
The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are notorious for ramping up emotions, intensity, and physicality, especially when it comes to classic Canadian rivalries. However, sometimes the line gets crossed.
In the Canucks versus Oilers' matchup, tensions ran high right from the start. Oilers' forward Zach Hyman delivered a hit on Canucks' captain Quinn Hughes that raised eyebrows.
Hyman blindsided Hughes with a crosscheck to the back, sending him dangerously into the boards. Fortunately, Hughes managed to shake it off and skate away.
But Hyman's hit is under scrutiny, as it's the kind that catches the NHL player safety's attention. Depending on their ruling, Hyman could be looking at a suspension or a hefty fine. Hitting someone from behind is a major violation of safety rules in the league.
