With Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway being shipped away from the Edmonton Oilers, it seems like GM Stan Bowman just got some great news on Evander Kane.

It was originally believed that Kane would either have to be traded or placed on the Long Term Injured Reserve. Of course, this was causing quite a bit of tension as Kane had reportedly told the team that he would not go on LTIR. It would put the team in a huge salary cap deficit, and some were concerned that more trades would have to be made.
However, Stan Bowman revealed on Tuesday that Kane will not have to be placed on LTIR. Even if Kane is too injured to play, they won't have to take any drastic measures. Ultimately, this is a massive victory for the franchise given their current cap situation.

Good News for Evander Kane

Evander Kane had 24 goals with the Oilers last season and had a total of 44 points. In the postseason, he played a total of 20 games and had eight points. However, he was mostly out of commission during the Stanley Cup Finals. Either way, Kane still has gas left in the tank and it will be interesting to see what he does next season.
