Vladimir Bure, the father of Pavel and Valeri Bure, has passed away at the age of 73 following a swimming accident in the ocean in which he suffered a heart attack.

This happened a few weeks ago, and Vladimir has since succumbed to the damage his heart sustained. This is a truly tragic event and we can only imagine how Pavel and Valeri must be feeling right now.
Vladimir Bure was an Olympic swimmer who won a silver medal and three bronze during his career. Furthermore, he was a strength and conditioning coach with the New Jersey Devils when they won their Stanley Cups back in 2000 and 2003.
Meanwhile, Pavel and Valeri were NHL superstars in their own right. They lit up the NHL with their dazzling moves and scoring ability. You can't have a Vancouver Canucks or a Florida Panthers highlight reel without Pavel and Valeri leading the charge. The two brothers certainly made their father proud during their time in the league.
Our heart goes out to the Bure family during this incredibly difficult time. We hope they get the support they need from family and friends. RIP Vladimir Bure.
