Pittsburgh Penguins Forward Placed On Waivers For The Second Time
The carousel continues for 25-year-old forward Matthew Phillips, who finds himself on the waiver wire once again, marking his second stint this season.
Chris Johnston of The Athletic revealed the latest development, noting that Phillips was placed on waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, alongside Joel Hanley of Dallas and Aaron Dell of Los Angeles.
«Placed on NHL waivers today: Joel Hanley (DAL), Aaron Dell (LA) and Matthew Phillips (PIT).»
Phillips' journey took a turn when the Penguins picked him up off waivers from the Capitals back on February 16th. In his brief tenure with Pittsburgh, he's hit the ice in three games.
Across his season with both Pittsburgh and Washington, Phillips has made his presence known in 30 games, netting one goal, tallying five points, and firing 20 shots on goal.
