Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were killed by a drunk driver last week while riding their bicycles near their hometown of Salem, New Jersey.

Overall, this is a massive tragedy that has left a lasting impact on the entire family. Perhaps the most affected by this is their sister Katie, who was supposed to get married over the weekend. The wedding was canceled as a result of the tragedy, and many have been offering their condolences.
However, there are some rare instances of people being needlessly cruel towards Katie online. For instance, in the Instagram comment screenshot below, you can see that one person attempted to blame the Gaudreau brothers for their deaths.

This is absolutely disgusting behavior and should be condemned. Thankfully, there were many in the comments section who went after this person and corrected them. At the end of the day, this commenter is a bit of an outlier. However, there are others out there with the same mentality. It is truly shocking, especially given what we know about the case. To blame the Gaudreaus for what happened is complete and utter ignorance of the highest level. We hope that the platform takes action so that the Gaudreaus don't have to deal with any more of this kind of cruelty.
Our heart continues to go out to the Gaudreau family during this incredibly difficult time. We hope that they are all getting the hope they need from both family and the community.
