Johnny Gaudreau is being remembered as a spectacular human following the deaths of him and his brother Matthew.

The two brothers were cycling in New Jersey when they were struck by a drunk driver. Since that time, family members, teammates, and journalists have come out to describe what an amazing person Johnny Hockey was. Perhaps the best example of this comes in the form of his message to Patrik Laine at the end of last season.

Laine had been placed in the NHL's player assistance program. He was struggling in Columbus, but Gaudreau had his back. This was his final message to Laine, and it was a powerful one.

"They're not alone in the city. They have us so we got to be there for them."

Just a couple of days ago, it was also revealed that Laine and Gaudreau were able to raise $50,000 for mental health awareness through the Give Back Initiative. This money will go a long way, and you cannot help but applaud the Blue Jackets players for their efforts.

Overall, this just goes to show what an amazing guy Gaudreau was. He was an ambassador for the sport and he was someone who had deep love, affection, and care for his teammates. He will be truly missed.
