Seattle Kraken goalie Joey Daccord shows off his brand new paint job for next season.

Goaltenders have always stood out from their teammates, not only for their unique position on the ice but also for the personalized and often elaborate designs on their goalie masks. Seattle Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord recently unveiled his new helmet for the 2024-2025 season, and it is a stunning piece of art that perfectly captures the spirit of the Kraken.
When goaltenders join a new team, whether through signing or trade, they often collaborate with a trusted painter to create a custom helmet design that reflects both their personality and their new team's identity. For the upcoming season, Joey Daccord's helmet features intricate details that make it truly exceptional.
From a distance, the helmet appears to feature a classic design with the Kraken "S" logo prominently displayed. However, a closer look reveals a wealth of intricate details that make the helmet a standout piece. The crown of the helmet proudly displays the Seattle Kraken name, while the tones of blue and green blend seamlessly with shimmering flakes throughout the design. Hidden anchors are subtly incorporated into the design, adding depth and a nod to Seattle's nautical theme.
Since joining the Kraken in their inaugural season via the expansion draft, Daccord has consistently sported helmets adorned with incredible artwork. While much of the credit goes to his talented painter, Daccord deserves recognition for his involvement in the creative process. A successful collaboration between a goalie and their painter involves brainstorming sessions to align on a vision for the design, as the goaltender will be wearing the helmet throughout the season.
Daccord's choice of a mask design reflects not only his connection to the Kraken but also his commitment to making a mark at the NHL level. At 27, Daccord is looking to solidify his place in the league. Despite limited opportunities, he remains determined to improve his performance and secure a more permanent role with the Kraken.
So far, Daccord has played in 69 NHL games, posting a record of 22-27-13 with a 2.77 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. While these numbers show potential, Daccord aims to build on this foundation and demonstrate his capabilities as a reliable goaltender for the Kraken.
His new helmet serves as both a symbol of his journey with the Kraken and a reminder of his ambitions for the future. As the season unfolds, Daccord's performance will be closely watched by fans and analysts eager to see if he can translate his artistic flair into success on the ice.
The new mask is not only a testament to Daccord's creativity and dedication but also a symbol of the unique role goaltenders play in the world of hockey. Their helmets are more than just protective gear; they are canvases for personal expression and team pride. Daccord's latest helmet is a perfect example of this tradition, blending art and sport in a way that captures the imagination of fans and celebrates the spirit of the Seattle Kraken.
