Carter Hart Rumored To Sign Contract With The KHL Amidst 2018 WJC Scandal
Carter Hart, previously with the Philadelphia Flyers, is reportedly considering a career move to the KHL amidst lingering controversy from the 2018 World Juniors scandal.
Now a free agent, Hart, who boasts a salary of $3.9 million, finds the KHL a viable option for continuing his career, despite the unresolved legal situation awaiting trial.
Hart, a second-round pick for the Flyers in 2016, distinguished himself as a top goalie, earning the CHL Goaltender of the Year twice with the WHL's Everett Silvertips. Over six NHL seasons, Hart accumulated a record of 218-96-93, with a 2.94 goals against average in 227 games.
The scandal, which also involves NHL players Dillon Dube, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, and former player Alex Formenton, has significantly impacted the players' reputations.
As Hart looks towards the KHL for a fresh start, the hockey world awaits decisions from the NHL and Canadian authorities regarding his potential move.
