"Byron Froese joined Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (one-year deal)."
Froese, who played 16 games with the Vegas Golden Knights last season and another 53 with the Henderson Silver Knights of the AHL, is making a significant move in his career. Drafted in the fourth round by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2009, Froese has also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, and Calgary Flames during his time in the NHL.
"Byron Froese (@AHLHeat) enters the double-digits with a shorthanded goal in #HSKvsSTK."
In the 2015-16 season, Froese played 56 games with the Maple Leafs, the most in his NHL career for a single season. Overall, he has appeared in 141 regular season NHL games, scoring seven goals and recording 13 points. His AHL career has been even more prolific, with Froese playing in 513 games and amassing 312 points (142 goals, 170 assists).
This move to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl represents a new chapter for Froese as he looks to bring his experience and skills to the KHL, seeking stability and potentially a different kind of success in his hockey career.
