Another top Sportsnet reporter let go following Jeff Marek debacle
Christine Simpson of Sportsnet is someone that fans have gotten to know for years at this point.
She does a phenomenal job as a sideline and locker room reporter during games. Moreover, she is the ultimate professional who rarely misses a beat. Unfortunately, she has been let go from Sportsnet and will not be doing any games this season. In an Instagram post, Simpson spoke about her time with the network.
»As my time at Sportsnet comes to an end I can't help but feel grateful for my experience. Since we went to air in 98 it's been my absolute privilege to cover the NHL. Meeting so many men & women in the game & sharing their stories brought me more joy than you can imagine.
This was so much more than a job to me. So while I'm sad to see my chapter at Sportsnet come to a close, I'm eager to see what my next chapter will bring. Thanks to all who have watched & supported me along the way.«
Sportsnet public relations confirmed the news. They noted that she had worked with them for 20 years. However, they did wish her well which is certainly a classy gesture given all she has accomplished with them.
