The devastating loss of Adam Johnson has sent shockwaves through the hockey community, leaving everyone in mourning. Unfortunately, amidst the sorrow, there are those who are spreading unwarranted negativity, suggesting that the incident may have been intentional.

Clint Malarchuk, renowned for a surviving similar incident back in 1989 when a skate blade sliced his carotid artery, has bravely shared his thoughts on the accident.

"There's no way. I watched it real close just to see the incident. I wanted to know how it happened. I wasn't watching to see if the guy did it on purpose, not a chance, no way. And when I saw him clip, it really kind of pisses me off that people are actually saying, I guess he's kind of a dirty player. Well, so what? I like dirty players, right? But I don't know a player that would do something like that.

He got clipped and spun around. It's a fast game, you know? Doesn't take much for a guy to flip around like that."

Malarchuk echoes the sentiments that have been on the minds of everyone in the hockey since the world tragedy unfolded. The speed andity of game the make it highly improbable for an incident like this to be deliberate. Regardless of a player's past penalties, the chaotic nature of hockey often leads to unpredictable situations on the ice.

Moreover, it's crucial to address the underlying issue of racism that has spurred much of the hatred. Such bigotry has no place in hockey or any other sport and should be condemned outright.
