Sad news is coming out of the hockey world today as it has been reported that Timur Bariyev, a 15-year-old hockey player, is currently in the hospital with spinal injuries.

As you can see in the video down below, Bariyev was hit from behind during a game. He went head-first into the boards and ended up hurting his neck as he went in there. It was a horrible injury that left him on the ice. It was a horrifying moment for those in attendance in addition to all of the players on the ice.

Unfortunately, this is one of those incidents that is all too common when it comes to the game of hockey. When you have physicality in a sport, this kind of thing is inevitable, as unfortunate as it is. We have seen ambulances on the ice quite a bit as of late, and it is never not a jarring sight to see.

Spinal injuries are also common in the game of hockey. With the boards all around the rink, players can land awkwardly and end up with these kinds of injuries. In youth hockey, players are supposed to be taught how to safely give hits and safely receive hits. However, it is not always that simple. The game is so fast, and sometimes, these kinds of things happen.

We are wishing Bariyev all of the best as he goes through this recovery process. It is not going to be easy to come back from, but we're sure with some perseverance he will be able to do it.
