This past year, the NHL came under scrutiny for partnering with Fanatics and making them the league's official jersey maker for both fans and players.

Fans have reported that their jerseys have come with all sorts of quality control issues. From poor stitching to misspelled names, the issues with Fanatics have been endless. As for the players themselves, they have dealt with frail uniforms that will untether at the slightest inclination of tension. It has been tough to watch and it seems like the issues are persistent.

According to San Jose Sharks beat reporter Max Miller, goaltender Vitek Vanecek had his name misspelled by Fanatics recently. Instead of his name being spelled with an "e" after the "n," there was an "a" instead. Unfortunately, he could not get a backup and had to make do.

This kind of thing is unacceptable and happens all too often with Fanatics. You would think that by now, the company would have figured out its quality control. This is especially true when you consider how the company works with plenty of other professional sports leagues outside of the NHL.

Either way, this is something that the NHL is going to have to really evaluate, moving forward. This kind of thing can't keep happening, otherwise, fans will stop buying jerseys, and the players themselves will revolt. Hopefully, all sides can get some sort of resolution in the near future.
