To rectify some of their old wrongs, they hired a new head coach in Craig Berube. Furthermore, they stripped John Tavares of the Maple Leafs captaincy and gave the honor to Auston Matthews. It was an interesting move, and fans are eager to see his leadership qualities come to fruition.
Now, according to Elliotte Friedman, the Maple Leafs are looking to make some more big moves. Namely, it would appear as though the team is trying to seek out none other than a left-winger to help really make their offensive depth pop.
PTOs are most definitely an option here, with names like James van Riemsdyk and Max Pacioretty being thrown around. However, it remains to be seen what the Leafs are actually going to do here. There are plenty of options and GM Brad Treliving will most certainly have his work cut out for him.
