The Oilers Embarrass All Canadian NHL Teams After Setting Multiple Records
In Saturday night's Battle of Alberta, the Calgary Flames aimed to spoil the Edmonton Oilers streak but fell short, witnessing the Oilers set multiple records on Flames home ice at the Scotiabank Saddledome in their 3-1 victory.
The win marked the Oilers' 13th consecutive victory, a new franchise record. This accomplishment stood out as no previous Oilers team had achieved such a feat. Furthermore, the Oilers secured records for both the Western Conference and all of Canada, being the sole NHL team in either category to achieve 13 straight wins.
Additionally, the Oilers set a franchise record, largely attributed to the stellar performance of goaltender Stuart Skinner, as they completed their 11th straight game allowing two or fewer goals. Skinner also achieved a personal milestone by tying an Oilers record with his 10th consecutive victory for the team.
It's a celebratory night for the Oilers' fan base, while it might linger as a haunting one for the Calgary Flames' faithful for the same reasons.
