Every bride envisions her wedding day as a beautiful celebration of love. Unfortunately, for one couple, this special day was disrupted by an unexpected incident involving Joonas Rask, the younger brother of former NHL goaltender Tuukka Rask. Joonas Rask has since issued an apology after his actions at the wedding caused an uproar among the attendees.
The groom took to social media to recount the incident, stating that Rask crashed the wedding reception at a nightclub where he had been drinking. According to the post, Rask took off his shirt, grabbed the bride, and pushed her head down while shouting "sucking machine!" Rask, when asked about the incident, admitted that he doesn't remember everything but expressed his regret for any distress caused.
Joonas Rask, 34, was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the seventh round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He played two games for the Predators before returning to Finland to continue his career. After several years, Rask moved to Sweden to play in the SHL and returned to the Finnish Elite League last season.
Tuukka Rask, Joonas' older brother, spent his entire NHL career with the Boston Bruins, playing 564 regular season games and another 104 in the playoffs before retiring in 2022. He was part of the 2011 Stanley Cup-winning Bruins team.
The incident has caused significant embarrassment for Joonas Rask, who has publicly apologized for his actions. While it remains a regrettable episode, his apology may help to alleviate some of the hurt feelings and restore some semblance of peace for the newlyweds.
