Meredith Gaudreau has been mourning the loss of her husband Johnny, and her brother-in-law Matthew.

Their deaths have been a huge shock to the hockey world, and many are currently in mourning. One such player is Sean Monahan, who played with Gaudreau on the Calgary Flames. In fact, Monahan was set to be teammates with Gaudreau again, this time with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Monahan loved Gaudreau, and was devastated by Johnny's passing.

On Instagram, Meredith Gaudreau posted about just how hard hockey season has been on her family. She explained how they should be prepping for the upcoming year. Instead, she is left picking up the pieces. However, she is wishing Monahan the best of luck, noting that Johnny would have loved being teammates again.

It's been really hard watching hockey start up and seeing how different my life is now. My whole life was taking care of John and our kids. It's all I ever wanted. But watching Sean wear CBJ is something I know John always always wanted. Noa loves cheering for Uncle Sean too. Wishing 23 a good training camp and can't wait to cheer you on.

Our heart continues to go out to the Gaudreau family during this horrible time. Meredith Gaudreau has shown tremendous strength throughout all of this, and you truly have to admire her and her family's perseverance.
