Maple Leafs coach who once worked with Tom Brady dies after surgery complications
Sad news has hit the sports world today as beloved performance coach Greg Harden has passed away at the age of 75 following complications from surgery.
Harden had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and was receiving treatment at the time of his passing. For those who may not know, Harden had been a performance coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the last three seasons.
Furthermore, Harden worked of the University of Michigan and was one of many who had an early hand in Tom Brady's success. He worked with Michael Phelps, and even JJ McCarthy of the Minnesota Vikings.
Tom Brady took to Twitter following the news and delivered a beautiful statement and recollection on Harden.
"I'm so sad to hear the news of Greg's passing. I'm heartbroken as he was a dear friend and mentor. There are so many beautiful qualities Greg had that endeared him to so many people over his years at Michigan.
He meant the world to me and I could never have had the success I had without the time, energy, love and support he had given me. He will be truly missed."
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Harden's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. He was an amazing man who impacted the lives of so many.
Rest in peace, Greg Harden
