The severity and duration of Vancouver Canucks star Brock Boeser's blood clotting problems have been disclosed by an insider.

This information follows the announcement that Boeser would not be playing in tonight's game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers. This creates a massive void in the Canucks lineup that will can'tbe filled.

Boeser's season is finished, according to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, since team physicians discovered a blood clotting issuein his leg.

Sounds like #Canucks Brock Boeser's blood clot developed in his leg, something team medical staff found after Game 6.

He has been placed on blood thinning medication and is not expected to be available to play again this season.

Brutal break for #Canucks' leading goal scorer.

The medical team of the Canucks discovered the problem after game six, and Boeser has been instructed to take blood thinners in an effort to fight the clot.

Even if the Cancucks win tonight, Boeser's season is done because it is unlikely that he will be cleared to play for the remainder of the playoffs.

Boeser, 27, participated in 81 regular season games for the Canucks, tallying 40 goals and 33 assists for a total of 73 points. Boeser participated in 12 games during the playoffs, scoring points in each one.

The Canucks have suffered a significant loss, and it won't be easy to replace Boeser and his impact.
